Event Description:
Housing communities are enriched by cultural diversity, and this evening event celebrates the vibrant multicultural fabric of Nancy’s young population. The Cultural Night aims to create a warm and welcoming space where attendees can share music, stories, and traditions from their backgrounds, fostering intercultural understanding and friendship.
Program:
Starting at 6:00 PM, the event opens with a welcome speech and introduction to the evening’s theme of cultural exchange.
From 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, local and student musicians representing various cultures will perform live sets showcasing traditional and contemporary music styles. Each performance will be accompanied by explanations about the cultural significance of the music.
At 8:00 PM, participants will break into smaller groups for storytelling sessions where individuals share personal experiences about their cultural heritage and housing journeys. This intimate format encourages empathy and dialogue.
A break for refreshments and informal mingling is scheduled from 8:45 PM to 9:15 PM.
From 9:15 PM to 10:30 PM, a collaborative workshop will invite attendees to create a collective art piece symbolizing unity and diversity in housing communities. Materials will be provided to express ideas through painting, collage, or writing.
The night ends with a group reflection and plans for future cultural events hosted by APLJ.
