Event Description:
Navigating the legal aspects of renting can be daunting, especially for young tenants unfamiliar with the law. This event offers a comprehensive Tenant Rights and Legal Aid Clinic to educate and support renters on their legal protections and obligations. It is ideal for young people, students, and any new tenants who want to understand their rights better and learn how to resolve common housing disputes.

Program:
The clinic will open at 9:00 AM with a presentation by a housing law specialist detailing the rights and responsibilities of tenants under French law. This will include explanations of lease agreements, deposit regulations, eviction procedures, and repair obligations.

After the presentation, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, individual consultations with volunteer legal advisors will be available. Attendees can bring specific questions or issues regarding their rental situation for confidential advice. These consultations are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lunch break from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.

At 1:30 PM, a workshop will guide participants through the process of preparing and documenting complaints, communicating with landlords, and using mediation services to resolve conflicts.

A special session from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM will explain how to access free or low-cost legal aid in Nancy, including when and how to contact housing tribunals.

The event concludes with a resource fair featuring local tenant associations, legal clinics, and community organizations offering ongoing support.
